The 7th International Contemporary Dance Festival “Na Grani” (meaning "On The Edge") will be held in Yekaterinburg, Russia from November 24th till 29th, 2015.
Festival takes place annually, focusing on international programme every second year. The region is known for its established contemporary dance companies among which are Tatyana Baganova’s company Provincial Dances and Olga Pona’s Chelyabinsk Theatre of Contemporary Dance. Yekaterinburg city is known as a capital of contemporary dance in Russia - status that is being confirmed every year also by the festival. This year the progamme promisses to be very ineteresting and variable. There will be companies from many different cities of Russia: Yekaterinburg, Perm, Saint-Petersburg, Kostroma, Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Kazan, Samara and also companies from abroad: USA, Estonia and Finland (Tangotheatre Kiukkarainen with the Chess Piece).
Performance of the Finnish dance company is organised with the support of Finnish-Russian Dance Exchange Programme, Dance Info Finland and Embassy of Finland in Moscow.
There's also a two days Off-Programme with workshops, lectures and performances for children.
It is not difficult to get to Yekaterinburg. There are straight flights from at least Moscow, St. Petersburg and Helsinki. So if you want to meet new people and you love contemporary dance: pack your bags and come to Yekaterinburg this November!
